Spotify has recently made changes to how it connects with third-party apps like Struct Club. Because these changes have not been rolled out uniformly to all Spotify users, you may experience issues with music playback, even if your Struct Club and Spotify apps are up to date.
If you're having trouble with Spotify playback in Struct Club, try the steps below.
1. Update Struct Club
First, make sure you have the latest version of Struct Club installed from the App Store.
2. Change your Spotify Playback setting
After updating Struct Club:
- Open your iPhone Settings app.
- Search for and select Struct Club.
- Scroll to the bottom and select Spotify Playback.
- Select Queue (Legacy).
About the Spotify Playback options
Queue (Legacy)
This is the Spotify playback method Struct Club used before Spotify's recent changes. If you're experiencing playback issues, this is the first option we recommend trying.
Web API (Recommended)
This is the newer playback method released to comply with Spotify's latest changes. Spotify has not yet rolled this change out uniformly to all users, so this option may not work correctly for everyone yet. As Spotify continues its rollout, you may eventually need to switch to this option.
Basic
If neither Queue (Legacy) nor Web API (Recommended) works, try Basic.
With Basic playback, Struct Club tells Spotify to play one song at a time rather than building the entire queue in advance. Because of this, Crossfade will not work with the Basic option.
3. Try Offline Mode
Struct Club also has an Offline Mode that completely disconnects the app from your music service.
Go to:
Struct Club → Settings → Music → Offline
When Offline Mode is enabled:
- Struct Club will continue running your class cues.
- Struct Club will not control or trigger Spotify.
- You'll need to open Spotify separately and start your downloaded playlist manually.
- This is currently the only way to use downloaded Spotify music with Struct Club without an internet connection.
**If you're still experiencing issues after trying these options, please contact Struct Club Support with your device model, iOS version, Spotify version, and Struct Club version so we can take a closer look.
